Xiaomi Announces New CC Series, Discontinues Mi Max and Mi Note Line

Xiaomi, which is a Chinese brand but dominating the Indian smartphone market for the last few quarters has announced its new 'CC' smartphone series under the Mi brand.

For 2019, Xiaomi has made some major changes in its smartphone lineup which include spinning off Redmi as a standalone brand. On this case, it is focusing on the younger generation with the launch of Mi CC, a brand new collection of smartphones aiming to be "a stylish mobile phone for world younger individuals". While Xiaomi will handle design, R&D, and sales of Meitu-branded smartphones, Meitu will work on improving the phones' camera software. The Mi CC9's China launch is just a week away and it's unknown at the moment whether the phone will make into the Indian market or not. With this product, Xiaomi claims that this latest gadget has been manufactured keeping in mind the requirements of youth belonging to 18 - 35 years of age group.

Xiaomi CC9 teaser shared by the company on Weibo confirms that the device will arrive with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor at its rear. The company will announce five winners every week stating June 28 to July 19. The rear shell of the Mi CC9 is equipped with a triple camera setup placed at the top-left corner. However, it doesn't reveal any new details about the upcoming Mi CC9 smartphone.

Recently, Xiaomi has released a promotional video for the Xiaomi CC smartphone. The images of the phone reveal that it could be equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner enabled waterdrop-style notch display and AI driven 48-megapixel triple camera system.

It should be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC, and pack 3,500mAh battery.

Additionally, it comes with a 5.97-inch AMOLED display which houses a 32MP selfie camera and supports an in-display fingerprint sensor.
