Man Utd only have £100m for transfers

Former England worldwide, Stan Collymore, has backed Manchester United's executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, to sign Chelsea's N'Golo Kante and West Ham's Declan Rice in order to keep midfielder, Paul Pogba, at Old Trafford next season.

De Gea has been a star at Old Trafford and in the post-Ferguson era, without doubt, he has been the club's best player.

According to recent reports from Italy, it is none other than Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who takes the most important decisions at his club Juventus.

Mbappe finished as top scorer in Ligue 1 last season after scoring 33 goals at an exceptional rate of one every 71 minutes.

Pogba's five-year contract that he signed in 2016 expires in 2021 but United have the option to extend the contract by a year.

Most teammates would prefer him to stay, but recognise the negative influence such a big character has on the rest of the camp when he is unhappy. Globo Esporte says talks are already underway for the Brazil global to return to Barcelona, who may pay €100m and send players, with Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti mentioned.

Pogba is one of three midfielders on Juventus' shortlist of midfield targets - along with Adrien Rabiot and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - but the Italian champions will not match United's valuation of the player.

He told reporters: "Pogba and Rabiot are two good players".

Real Madrid remains his preferred destination while moves to Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also been mooted. I am thinking of this: "to have a new challenge somewhere else". Everybody wants to see him here soon, and I think he will come.

For United's part, they expect Pogba to remain at Old Trafford next season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but that won't stop Real and Juventus testing their resolve before the close of the transfer window.

Real Madrid are also interested in signing the midfielder, who asked to leave United last summer too amid interest from Barcelona.
