Andy Ruiz beats Anthony Joshua

Ruiz recorded a monster upset, knocking down Britain's Joshua four times to take the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization titles. Joshua simply looked about - possibly at his corner - and the referee stopped the fight.

"OMG! OMG! I can not believe this S$&@$!"

Ruiz closed as a 10-1 underdog to win at the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, 14-1 to win at the Fanduel sportsbook and 20-1 to win by knockout.

"I'm just happy, I just want to take this moment [and share it] with my family and my kids and just enjoy it". That's why we have to see them fight.' I say that because I'm being honest.

Ruiz (33-1, 22 KOs) has been underestimated because of his physique, but he knew what was at stake and how fortunate he was to get a second chance at a world title.

"And I just got beat by a good fighter tonight", he said. "Wilder justifies his strategy by asserting his 'need to sort out" any arguments against his win over Ortiz, who had him in trouble before being stopped, and the contentious draw against Fury.

Joshua was making his long-awaited USA bow in front of 19,000 fans at the hallowed Madison Square Garden, and Ruiz's physique compared to his British opponent's well-chiseled frame had been the particular source of humor for many heading into the bout.

In a fight that will live long in the annals of sporting history, both men exploded into action in the third round.

Not everyone was as kind about Joshua in the aftermath of the fight, though.

Ruiz Jr is thought to have earned an astonishing £5.36m from stunning Joshua - more than three times the most he had had previously won from a fight.

Fury, who Joshua wanted to sit down and talk with regarding a future fight, was no doubt watching. "Now, fighters know they have just got to stick in there against him and keep throwing body shots". Time was 1:27. Andy Ruiz is the new heavyweight champion! "He's a champion for now, I shall return".

"If it wasn't for my dad, I wouldn't be here", Ruiz said. The win has completely changed the landscape of the heavyweight division, with all roads before seemingly pointing to a massive showdown between Joshua and American Deontay Wilder.

"Y'all remember when Anthony Joshua said he was going to break the Drake curse?"
