The Premier League title will be decided on Championship Sunday, and boy, is the race for first place a close one.
Usually, the Premier League trophy is always kept inside the stadium where the team which is most likely to win the title is playing.
The situation means Liverpool could face the agonising scenario of catching a glimpse of the trophy but not being able to get their hands on it should Guardiola's men complete the job on the south coast.
Man City now holds a one-point advantage over second-placed Liverpool, who will play host to Wolves.
The real trophy, referred to as the "Champions" Trophy', has in fact been housed by the Etihad ever since they earned it last May.
Pep Guardiola's treble-chasing side needed to win to retain control of their title destiny, and their 13th successive victory took them a point above Liverpool.
After edging past Newcastle 3-2 on Saturday night, Liverpool, who have not won the league since 1990, were left praying that former manager Brendan Rodgers could do them a favour at the Etihad.

"For the Premier League to be prepared for such circumstances, there are two Premier League trophies", a league spokesman said, according to The Telegraph.
A top-four finish is crucial since it ensures a Champions League spot for next season. Let's take a look at the other final day title deciders.
"We were seven points behind, but we are in the last game and it is in our hands".
If Wolves were to score four goals at Anfield they would be the first visiting team to do so since Andrey Arshavin scored four for Arsenal in an incredible 4-4 draw in 2009.
He added: "But 195 points in two seasons, you know..."
Juergen Klopp's Liverpool finished 25 points behind City previous year, but rose to the challenge and have bridged that gap playing football that at times has surpassed even the dazzling standards of Guardiola's side. During the run they have eroded Liverpool's advantage.
Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alberto Moreno are not eligible for a Premier League winner's medal should the Reds seal the league on Sunday.
