Celtics' Kyrie Irving choosing Nets over Knicks in free agency?

Houston was a bounce or two away from getting into the most-dreaded 3-0 hole against Golden State, then rallied to win Game 3 on Saturday night and keep realistic hope alive against the two-time defending National Basketball Association champions. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 39 points to lead Milwaukee to the win and Kyrie Irving scored 23 points in the loss for Boston.

Zach Lowe replied that he didn't seem like the type of player that would be satisfied with a split.

"Honestly, we're just not doing the things that we talk about consistently", Al Horford said.

It's understandable why Irving would want to leave the court so quickly. "So, I really don't know what to say, but I know I'm going to keep trying to make plays, go downhill, get to the free throw line and keep finding my teammates". They've been excellent, Connaughton has been excellent. Eric Bledsoe is the third double-digit scorer and George Hill is dishing 3.3 assists.

Milwaukee's 113-101 win over the Boston Celtics means the Bucks can close out the conference semifinals Wednesday at Fiserv Forum. While we got to see Smart's hustle on display as he chased defenders around the perimeter, the stats paint a grim picture regarding his effectiveness. They responded by scoring 86 points over the final 33 minutes.

His presence would be welcomed as the Celtics try to turn things around Monday after dropping Games 2 and 3 to fall behind in the series.

Following Game 4, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke on the Rockets physicality, telling reporters "they have a lot of middle linebackers on that team". It was another indication that the "Greek Freak" has improved significantly in locating the gaps on the opposing defense and making the majority, sometimes scoring against Kyrie Irving or Al Horford, with Marcus Smart giving crucial help on double-teams.

In Game 4, Irving picked up five fouls, he got beat on fast breaks, and he ended up getting switched on Giannis Antetokounmpo, which is never going to be a favorable matchup, far too often. But eventually he started finding his seams and Brad Stevens mixed in switches and high presses up at the screen level. It's very similar to the last series where you just roll with the punches and get the job done any way you can. "It's great to have guys who can step up like that from the bench".

And they need Irving.

Irving scored 26 points in Boston's Game 1 victory. He pledged allegiance to the Celtics in October, but has wavered on that commitment ever since. "Every single possession, we have to fight for the ball, fight for everything the entire game".

"It's exciting", Kyrie Irving said of the possibility of Smart returning. Wednesday's will be another one of them.
