Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, gives birth to baby boy

"I'm so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely fantastic", he said.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have welcomed their first child into the world.

The baby is also half-American and may choose to hold dual nationality, as Meghan, a California native, remains a USA citizen while waiting for her British citizenship to be approved. "An announcement will be made soon".

The Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a baby son weighing 7lbs 3oz, the palace has announced.

Journalists and well-wishers have camped out for days in Windsor, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) west of London, awaiting the baby's arrival.

It wasn't just them. It is understood they thought there was no pressure for such a public show when the baby was not in the direct line of succession, and unlikely to ever be monarch.

The baby was safely delivered at 05:26 but it has not been confirmed as to whether Meghan had him at home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor or in hospital.

Paddy Power said in their announcement that "speculation has them convinced" that "someone knows something".

Considering it is very rare for the royal family to cancel a pre-planned worldwide engagement, we have to imagine it's because Meg is due to give birth any minute now.

It's unclear whether the birth of Meghan and Harry's child will be announced via an easel outside Buckingham Palace, as was the case with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's three children.

This is Meghan's and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex's first child and Queen Elizabeth II's seventh great-grandchild.

Meghan isn't going to repeat.

Buckingham Palace had said that the media would be informed when Meghan was in labour.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married a year ago in May 2018.

The royal couple - whose first baby is due this month - are reportedly interested in buying a second home in the Duchess' native California so that they can be close to her mother Doria Ragland.

Souvenirs celebrating the birth have already been released by the Royal Collection.

Everyone seems to be interested in what the royal family members do. Hence, many fans are left wondering how does Queen Elizabeth feel about the drama and whether she is exhausted of it.

Markle, a former American actress, became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Harry in May 2018.

"Mother and baby are doing incredibly well, it´s been the most unbelievable experience I can ever possibly imagine".
