OnePlus 6T: cut-price flagship launches with in-screen fingerprint sensor

At the OnePlus event on Monday, the company announced some big news: You'll be able to buy the new OnePlus 6T smartphone at a USA carrier store. The company's latest flagship comes with a number of fancy features, like a cool-looking water drop notch, slightly larger display, a fingerprint scanner under the display, and. a very affordable price! CEO Pete Lau added, "T-Mobile is the ideal wireless partner for us in the U.S. The OnePlus 6T clocks some serious speed, and we wanted our customers to unleash it on the fastest network in the nation". As the leaks suggested, it gets an in-display fingerprint sensor, a smaller notch, and a bigger battery.

At first glance, it seems that OnePlus made only minimal changes to the 6T.

The dual-camera setup at the back includes 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel sensors for great photos.

And the processor is still the superfast Snapdragon 845 chipset, but the OS will be the latest Android 9 Pie. Because the OnePlus 6T has a Qualcomm system-on-chip, the U.S. government has no reason to distrust its abilities.

While Malaysia might not be chosen as one of the pop-up store locations for the launch of OnePlus 6T, our market did receive the closest thing to it: a pre-order program. This feature will also make its way to the OnePlus 6 with a software update. There's a new Smart Boost mode in OxygenOS that improves load times and multitasking performance. Camera-wise, the viewfinder app now has a dedicated Nightscape mode for low-light photography and much-improved "Studio Lighting" that adjusts exposure and flash to best capture subjects in the frame.

OnePlus announced the Bullets headphones with USB Type-C variant at $20.

The front of the glass is crafted from tough Gorilla Glass 6 and the entire device weighs a trifling 185g.

Shipping on 6 November, the OnePlus 6T starts at £499 for the 6GB/128GB model, with the sweet spot at £529 for the 8GB/128GB model.

In the United States, the base model will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and $549.

Previous OnePlus smartphones have worked just fine on T-Mobile such as the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, and OnePlus 6, but you would always have to bring-your-own-device by buying it directly from OnePlus.
