The chin is also smaller than the previous release, the Mi Mix 2S. Considered in context of the phone having a Sony IMX363 sensor, Xiaomi appears to have used some frame interpolation to reach that level of support. Instead, you'll just slide the cameras up and down, facilitated by the magnetic slider. So, it is a similar placement like the upcoming Honor Magic 2. According to Xiaomi, the slider is rated for 300,000 cycles.
Camera performance is where the Mi MIX 3 sees the biggest improvement.
Xiaomi has brought back the large screen, which made the series stand out when it debuted back in 2016.
The full front and back section of the phone moves - not just a small top component.
Now it's been officially revealed that the Mi Mix 3 will feature 5G support.
"The Mi Mix 3 is expected to sport a huge 6.5" Full HD+ screen with no bezels at all around the display. Xiaomi claims that the display offers a 60,000:1 contrast ratio and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. The phone has Sunlight Mode, Reading mode and Continuous color temperature adjustment. After being spotted as being silently listed on Mi.com last night, Xiaomi India has confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the variant will go on sale via Amazon India. This model will come with the same specs sheet other than the storage option and this variant will be available for Rs. 17,999 in the country for a limited time and might increase later as per the company's statement.
Other features: Mi Mix 3 is one of the first smartphones to support 5G connectivity.
The secondary camera is a 12 MP telephoto camera with smaller f/2.4 aperture with 1.0 micron pixels. Mi Mix 3 comes with 4-axis Optical Image Stablisation. Some AI features like AI Scene detection, AI Studio Light, AI Dynamic Bokeh, etc. are also present. This was achieved by hiding the front-facing cameras with a sliding mechanism. There are two cameras, for example, a 24 megapixel IMX576 sensor paired with a 2 megapixel depth of field camera.
Upfront, the handset features a 24MP+2MP dual camera setup for shooting selfies. This in turn convinced Xiaomi to introduce a notch to the Mi 8 earlier in 2018. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the phone can be obtained with up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. Xiaomi says that the slider, apart from opening up cameras, also acts as a customizable shortcut action for many tasks.
