Razer Phone 2 with new body and better specifications launched: Price, specifications

Razer Phone 2, is the new smartphone which is the successor of the last years Razer Phone.

The Raiju is a new controller created to work with most Android phones. It featured with IP67 certification which makes the phone dust and waterproof up to 1m for 30 mins. Dimensions measure 158.5 x 78.99 x 8.5 mm. The speakers occupy much of the top and bottom bezels (when oriented in portrait mode), and the bezels along the sides are quite small. Besides, you can also customize the lighting effects such Static, Spectrum Cycling and Breathing.

You won't get a headphone jack however, the company did add USB-Type C dongle (24-bit DAC) in the box. The Razer Phone 2 has a fingerprint scanner which embedded with the power button. The rear logo will automatically match the color of the LED lights to the lights on the phone.

Razer Phone 2 comes with a 120Hz UltraMotion Display. The phone offers around 72.0% screen-to-body ratio and 514 PPI density. That number is at least double that of 99 per cent of other displays, including TVs, computer monitors and most phones. The device is $100 more expensive than last year's Razer Phone, though.

When is the Razor Phone 2 coming out?

On the board, the CPU coupled with Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 (10 nm) chipset. However, you can expand the storage further via microSD card if you want. Although the Razer Phone 2 won't launch with Android Pie, the version of Android it does run is one powered by the popular third-party Nova Launcher - a detail sure to delight Android purists.

It features a 12MP wide-angle lens with OIS and an f/1.75 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture on the back. It can now record up to 2160p at 60fps and 1080p at 120fps. The phone also has 8 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It offers Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging and wireless charging support as well. The company is using the Razer vapor chamber cooling system to keep the internals cool under heavy load. It made by the server grade materials. Something which was lacking on the original Razer Phone, and was perhaps one of the most requested features, should Razer launch a second device.

The Razer Phone 2 is available for pre-order starting today, at a price of United States dollars 800/ GBP 780/ Euro 850; however, the phone also comes in a premium Satin Finish variant which costs USD 900/ GBP 880/ Euro 950, that will go on sale, later. Pre-orders are available now. You should expect a decent performance jump if other 845-equipped handsets are any indication, and the Phone 2 also comes equipped with a generous 8GB of RAM for multitasking and gaming.
