Apple launches the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

The leak, discovered in new product page listings of the sitemap by the site All Things How, appears to confirm the three new phones will be called the iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR. But, as rumoured beforehand, it will be more affordable than the premium models.

The rear sports a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with improved two-tone flash.

Apple also introduced a lower-cost 6.1-inch (15.5 cm) iPhone XR made of aluminum, at a starting price at $749.

Meanwhile, the iPhone Xs, at $999, has the same screen size of its predecessor, but with the internal upgrades found in the Max.

With six new colours (white, black, blue, yellow, coral, (PRODUCT) RED), the iPhone Xr may also be popular for those uninterested in the silver, space gray and gold options with iPhone Xs.

Pre-orders for the new phone will open on Friday, October 19 while the on-sale date will be October 26 here in the UK.

Other analysts have slightly different prices-$699, $969 and $1,069-but all are banking on Apple to raise prices again and deliver more revenue in the year ahead. It retains the key advances of the first iPhone X - facial recognition and an edge-to-edge display - but is cheaper while being noticeably larger at 6.1 inches. As 9to5Mac notes, the only place where Apple had even mentioned AirPower was on the iPhone X product page, which has since been removed to make way for the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xr. As expected, the phones will now come with up to 512GB of storage, up from the 256GB max on last year's models. The update is said to include a brand new digital wellness tool and users will notice improvements to reality platform ARKit. Mainly because it's a bigger, better, faster version of the iPhone X. Still, we know enough to compare some of the specs, features, missing features, price and release details to help buyers make the right decision.

The iPhone XR is also able to take Portrait Mode photos, despite the fact that it has only a single camera. The iPhone Xs screen is 5.8 inches.

But the reaction so far isn't as heated as it was when Apple announced it was doing away with the headphone jack back in 2017.

Most of the new phones' performance improvements stem from the A12 Bionic processor. It also will have a bigger battery and longer battery life than the iPhone Xs, but is otherwise identical in terms of features.

The new Watches have a new back that offers a completely new electrical sensor that does an actual ECG to check your heart health.

The iPhone XS is entirely waterproof and liquid proof, with the most durable glass ever on a smartphone.

AirPower Wireless Charging Mat - this was announced quite a while ago, and should have launched in the spring.
