North America to Hold the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Wednesday morning, Federation Internationale de Football Association announced that it accepted the United Bid of Canada, Mexico and the United States to host the 2026 World Cup.
The United 2026 bid has selected 23 host cities, from which the final 16 must be chosen. That event set attendance and television viewership records and helped kick-start the rapid growth of men's professional soccer in the country.

The 2026 World Cup will have 48 teams playing a total of 80 games - 60 planned across 10 US cities, and 10 games in three cities for each of Canada and Mexico.
Canada failed in its lone previous bid - to host the 1986 tournament after Colombia pulled out as host.
THE WORLD CUP will be returning to the United States and Mexico as well as head to Canada for the first time after the United 2026 bid prevailed over Morocco.
Nashville has recently hosted World Cup Qualifying matches and CONCACAF Gold Cup matches.
