ASUS CG32UQ: 4K Console Gaming LCD with FreeSync & Halo Sync Lighting

There is no guarantee these will be compatible with future ASUS ROG phones or if there even will be any future ROG phones. ASUS dug into its huge reserve of gaming nous and came out with the ASUS ROG Phone, a gaming smartphone that intends to dwarf all mobile gaming smartphones before it.

Alongside the phone, Asus also launched four accessories for it. Twelve years ago, ROG was founded out of our desire to create a full lineup of ultimate gear designed for gaming victory. Most Android phones on the market have a refresh rate of 60Hz, with exception to the Razer Phone that has a max refresh rate of 120Hz.

Built to last and munch through games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, it is a flagship spec phone with incredible performance - as we found out when we got our grubby little paws on it shortly before the event. ASUS has added the world's fastest 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU to the device.

The device features a custom version of Snapdragon 845 that runs at up to 2.96 GHz or 200 MHz more than the standard model.

Asus is once again trying to make high-spec smartphone gaming a thing.

For photography, the phone features a dual-rear camera setup at the back which consists of 12-megapixel sensor, paired alongside an 8-megapixel sensor. The device is black with white accents drawing aggressive angles on back along with vents for cooling and both Republic of Gamers branding and a configurable RGB ROG logo. However, during an interaction with BGR India, Dinesh Sharma, Director Mobile Product Centre for ASUS India did mention that the smartphone will be coming to India soon, and it will be competitively priced.

The smartphone also comes with some unique features, such as the GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system along with detachable "AeroActive Cooler" for an extra cooling boost.

The phone's AMOLED, 2,160x1,080 display has HDR support as well as a 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms response rate. It can also be utilized in multiple modes, including phone and tablet mode, docked mode (with screen hookups), and a dual-screen handheld mode. The latter is intended for use while gaming, so that the power cord doesn't get in the way of your hands when you're holding the phone in landscape. This allows the use of a 4K monitor, Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1-channel speakers, and a stack of USB peripherals. The side ports also work as connectors for some of the accessories.

With all this going in favour of the ASUS ROG Phone, there's no way that the device will be a cheap proposition. You can play games on one screen and chat on the other. Like most cases in this category, the TUF Gaming GT501 has dust filters at the bottom, front, and top. It also has controller-style grips, a fan, shoulder buttons, and a 6,000 mAh battery. It includes a WiGig Dock for streaming the game on to a big screen over the fast 802.11ad connection.

The price hasn't been announced yet but the device will go on sale some time in the third quarter.
