Honor 10 just landed with chameleon body, AI camera, and nice price

The Honor 7 line-up includes mid-range smartphones and the upcoming device (probably Honor 7C) might be priced somewhere between Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The phone has also been launched in India at the same time. That chip fuels the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro flagships, as well as the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and the Honor View 10.

For a price tag of Rs 27,999, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is a good alternative that is worth considering. It remains to be seen whether the Honor 10 can match it there. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 14nm octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz, with integrated Adreno 506 GPU. The phone will come with a 6GB RAM and 128GB memory.

Honor is pitching the Honor 10 with the tagline: "Beauty in AI".

The Honor 7C features a 5.99-inch TFT LCD IPS HD+ display with screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. There is a fingerprint scanner on the front too. The smartphone has an all-glass build with an aluminium frame giving it a premium and modern look. The company claims the phone is capable of gaining 50 percent charge in 25 minutes. There's also an infrared port at the top edge, in case you want to control your home appliances.

Other camera features include special lighting scenarios for portrait shots, an aperture mode for bokeh-effect shots, a hybrid 2x zoom, and a dedicated monochrome photo mode. Just like the Huawei P20 that launched last month, the AI camera is coming to the Honor range. This device is the brand's self-declared flagship smartphone for 2018, and its primary aim is to bring "Beauty in AI" to the masses. Basically, if you point the smartphone at the sky, it will detect the scene and boost the blue color of the sky. On the front, it comes with a 24MP selfie shooter. This camera can also be used for face-unlock, but it's nowhere as sophisticated as the one on the iPhone X. Well, I will be putting the smartphone through its paces over the next few days, and will reserve my judgment till then. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot on the device. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. That's because Honor has opted to use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display on the Honor 10, backing it up with facial recognition.

Billed as "perfect for a one-handed grip", the 5.84-inch Honor 10 is today expanding to an eclectic mix of European and Asian markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
