Iran anger at Israeli strikes on Syria

Allies of both countries fear that the latest skirmish might prompt a larger conflict between Israel and Tehran.

It could spread across Syria and Lebanon.

According to the report, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov visited Tehran a few hours before the Israeli attack.

It is a conflict that needs to be averted and the time to do it is now.

Israel has always regarded the city as its eternal and indivisible capital but the city has not gained that recognition internationally. Israel is hoping to highlight the fact that Iran's scarce resources are being wasted on foreign military adventures.

And it sponsors murderous regimes and brutal terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Gaza. Syrian president Bashar al-Assad's military forces continue to fight to wrest control from areas held by various rebel groups throughout the country. In defense of the Jewish state, this information did not comment.

Iran has numerous strike possibilities and Israel must be on its highest alert for every scenario.

Israel's army said it had hit dozens of Iranian military targets in Syria.

Tensions have escalated at a frightening pace between Iran and Israel in the three days since President Donald Trump said he was pulling the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal.

When the Iran nuclear deal is brokered by world powers in 2015, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slams it as an "historic mistake".

The regime now relies on a mixture of less advanced Russian-made anti-aircraft systems to defend its air space. It blamed the rocket fire on Iran's Al-Quds force, adding that Israel's anti-missile system intercepted four of the projectiles while the rest did not land in its territory.

Iran says it is not interested in having a confrontation with Israel.

"Moscow could use its good relations with the two countries to help them communicate and make sure confrontation does not exceed certain limits", Lukyanov said. Actual rockets slammed Israeli military positions inside the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Israel's response was massive.

"They say they simply want to have their lives back". "Syria has every right to defend itself", Iranian state TV quoted Qasemi as saying.

Russian media on Friday were actively circulating a video released by the Israeli military that showed an Israeli missile destroying one such system - a Russian-made Pantsir S-1 air defence battery - on Thursday in Syria.

The stakes here are huge. It may have been surprised by how much the Israelis seem to know about its activities in Syria, but it is unlikely to be dissuaded from its efforts. Unfortunately, European leaders failed to commit to sufficiently meaningful amendments, especially on the most important element - the sunset clauses of the accord - as well as verification mechanisms, ballistic missiles and development of advanced centrifuges, leaving the current Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (Iran deal) fatally flawed.

Washington's influence in the region is waning. Israel accuses Tehran of seeking to establish a foothold on its doorstep, something it has vowed never to allow.

It is a gloomy picture.

"Trump has chose to give complete, unreserved satisfaction to the Israelis", said Agnes Levallois, vice-president of the Mediterranean and Middle East research institute IREMMO.

Pro-Iranian factions have in the past attacked Israeli tourists overseas or Jewish organisations, notably in Latin America.

Iran has vowed to retaliate for repeated Israeli airstrikes targeting its forces in Syria.
