At TPC Sawgrass, Tiger Woods hits prettiest draw you'll ever see

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale hailed 14-time major champion Tiger Woods as the greatest golfer of all-time.

- Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson delivered plenty of entertainment Thursday at The Players Championship.

I actually think his chances of winning are good.

"There are a lot of birdie holes out there, and if it stays calm in the morning, you'll see a bunch of guys go low", Woods said.

"It was amazingly different. We'll play for whatever makes him uncomfortable".

"It's a lot more fun when you can get the three guys firing and trying to top each other, " Fowler said. The former world number one compared his rivalry with Mickelson to that of veterans Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer suggesting they always kept an eye out for their rivals' progress when they were playing the same event. In his two appearances at Carnoustie, Woods has finished seventh (1999) and 12th (2007). He failed to make a birdie in the final round of a tournament for the first time since 2014. "In our heydays, he wasn't a very social person and nor was I. Now we are both at the stage where we crave a bit more of the social side of things".

"But I was concerned that that was going to be the case, and it was". "We have to figure out a way to put it together, and I have not done that consistently this year so far". He stood there with his caddie and some media.

"I think it is going to be an incredible event and it will surprise everybody".

Yesterday, Padraig was playing with the following Wilson Staff clubs: FG Tour V6 irons 6-9; an FG Tour V4 iron; a C300 5 iron; a C300 hybrid 17*; FG Tour PMP 48*, 52* and 56* wedges; and the Infinite Southside putter. He's got to that stage.

That's been the story of the TPC Sawgrass over the years - a design that doesn't favor one particular style of play.

Mickelson looked more like an office worker than a golf pro in his long-sleeve buttoned shirt, and like many a middle-aged salary man, he had an afternoon energy issue. "But it would have been boring to do that", he added, laughing.

Mickelson, who made three double-bogeys in four holes in his opening 79, saw his chances of making the cut effectively end when he carved his tee shot to the short 13th into water and ran up a five.

We have to go out there and tear this place apart early on Friday. Who knows. I didn't have the guts to ask.
