His departure leaves Buffalo with two quarterbacks with a combined six career starts (including playoffs): free-agent addition AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman, best remembered for throwing five interceptions in the first half of a blowout loss to the Chargers in his rookie season.
"He is the most natural thrower in the draft", said Mayock, "but he reminds me of Sam Bradford", a reference to his supposed lack of durability. The well-known National Football League writer believes that the Cards are targeting Baker Mayfield to be their franchise signal-caller.
"When they made that move (the trade), that was before the owners' meeting, which is very unusual", said former Dallas VP of player personnel Gil Brandt, now a draft analyst for NFL.com and SiriusXM NFL Radio.
The Arizona Cardinals seem to be serious about securing their quarterback of the future now rather than later. In his final season Roethlisberger's completion percentage was 69 percent, in Carson Wentz's senior season he completed 63 percent of his passes and won back to back National Titles.

The retirement of Joe Thomas is going to hit the Browns hard this offseason. That makes him a top-5 guy for sure.
"I think it's going to be a insane draft", Jeremiah said.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller is one of those who put Nelson in the top 10 of his mock draft, and he compared the 2017 All-American favorably with former Notre Dame lineman and four-time Pro Bowler Zack Martin.
