Pentagon: No Civilians Killed in Syria Attack

The latest strike on Syria, conducted by the United States, the United Kingdom and France, has not helped peace settlement at any of the existing platforms, UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura said on Friday.

France had united with the USA and UK in bombing Syrian targets in retaliation for an alleged chemical weapons attack on Douma, the last rebel-held town in the Eastern Ghouta region outside Damascus.

"I want to get out", Trump said during an April 3 news conference.

The US, British and French missile strikes created to punish Mr Assad for the use of chemical weapons have done nothing to slow the advance of his forces, now in their strongest position since the early months of the seven-year war.

She also strongly condemned "the use of chemical weapons by any party in Syria". On December 6, 2016, Barack Obama bragged, "We've eliminated Syria's declared chemical-weapons program".

After seven years, fighting continues.

The U.S. -led global coalition against the Islamic State group says its local allies in Syria have captured a Syrian-born German IS operative previously tied to a 9/11-linked jihadist cell.

She added, "Administration and congressional officials said the hawkish Mr. Bolton is not expected to defer to the defense secretary; already, neoconservative members of the Republican foreign policy establishment have started to air concerns that Mr. Mattis is ceding strategic territory to Iran and Russian Federation in Syria". But again the "barrel bomb' farce is one more attempt by the Western media and politicians to remove the threat to their tunnel based jihadists from aerial warfare of any kind".

Journalists were not allowed to approach the convoy that included the vehicle by Syrian security forces. Smaller US foes such as Iran and North Korea are making similar judgments.

"I think it is important we target those who support Putin and his effective gangster regime".

Indeed, what is perhaps most striking about the most recent Syria face-off is how little discussion there appears to have been in Washington of stepping up wider action against Assad.

But one thing was missing: the weapons inspectors who arrived in Syria last week to establish what really happened in Douma.

White House national security adviser John Bolton told Russia's ambassador on April 19 that better relations between the two countries required addressing US concerns on election meddling, a chemical attack in Britain, and the situations in Ukraine and Syria, the White House said.

After the disastrous intervention in Iraq, the ability to reign in western governments is something to celebrate, but we must remember it is the Syrians who will pay the price of this victory.

More broadly, Russia's information warfare activities have also been stepped up, spreading division in the West. "We sought to send a lesson that it's bad practice to gas women and children", McKenzie said.

In line with many other countries like Germany, Canada and Turkey, Indonesia's message echoed the UN in that it called on nations to "show restraint in these risky circumstances and to avoid any acts that could escalate the situation and worsen the suffering of the Syrian people". That the Trump administration is easily intimidated and risk-averse. That may become even more true with Chief of Staff John Kelly reportedly sidelined and the president preoccupied with prosecutor Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe.

"There has been a very heavy security presence on the ground ever since the attack and they have been targeting doctors and medics in a very straightforward way".
