Manchester City are the new favourites to land the former United man and Northern Ireland worldwide.
Jose Mourinho paid tribute to Manchester City as they were confirmed as Premier League champions following a Manchester United defeat. Earlier, City had moved within touching distance of the crown with a 3-1 win at Tottenham on Saturday. He will have enjoyed the 19th hole.
The title win is also the first for a Spanish coach in the Premier League.
Increasingly poor conditions and a general lack of thrust continued to inhibit both sides, but United did force Foster into wonderfully save on 66 minutes when he tipped a Lukaku effort around the post.
In order to prevent City from being crowned champions for a few more days, United had to avoid defeat against bottom club Albion at Old Trafford. They now have 28 registered to their name with five games left to play.
Indeed, only in 2008-09 have the Baggies endured a longer away winless run in a single PL season (16 games).
"Attack, attack, attack" was the call from the Stretford End after the break and while United were more purposeful with the directness of Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial, they could not find an equaliser.

West Brom, to their credit, also kept probing forward but they lacked the class required to really open United up at the back.
"The Champions League is seven knockout games".
West Brom have not been relegated but they surely will be soon, even after this result.
It says a lot about the way Albion's season has gone that they are now on to their third managerial reign of the campaign.
Foster has featured 218 times for West Brom since January 2012 and has had to battle in the lower half of the league for much of his career since he departed Manchester in search of regular first team football.
West Brom had the first chance in the 12th minute, Jake Livermore's low shot saved by a stretching De Gea. There's relegation form and then there's outright footballing disaster. That will be the test, but it is easier said than done. Parachute payments do not guarantee anything.
Caretaker manager Darren Moore will be hoping to avoid such a situation and prolong their battle with an upset win against the Red Devils. At times people have mentioned them amongst the best sides to have played in the Premier League and whilst that might be an overstatement they have been brilliant and far better than any of the competition.
