Man already wanted for robbery arrested in separate case

Fulton, 18, of the 2100 block of Henning Lane, was free on a signature bond when police say he robbed a DeKalb resident of marijuana, money and a speaker.

The armed robbery in March was eerily similar to an earlier attempted robbery that took place on February 11 in the parking lot of Westmount Mall.

Acting ACP Qiolevu said police were aware that criminal elements would try to take advantage of the weather situation and steps were being taken to keep them at bay.

According to an arrest affidavit, when police arrived, officers detained 31-year-old Martin Rodriguez, who was held down by family members to prevent him from leaving the scene.

Boston police spokeswoman Rachel McGuire said the use of a remote location-tracking service for cellphones is common, but doesn't always lead to an arrest as it did in this case. "He was in there a very short amount of time".

The first robbery took place at 9:48 a.m. February 21 at Peach Street Market, Budreau said.

"The suspect was apprehended a day or two after the incident on Monday 2 April and was found with an unknown number of cellphones", said Matumba. The suspect is described as a Caucasian female, wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt with "BAUER" on the front.

After a short struggle, the man managed to grab her wallet before running off. Like the Peach Street robbery, the knife-brandishing man hopped the counter.

Police released dramatic surveillance of the robbery and asked for tips shortly after it happened.
