Party foul: Yankees' beer-foam art of players against Major League Baseball rules

Those two legends combined for 115 homers in the glorious season of 1961 but that total will be in danger thanks to the powerful swings of Stanton (who stands 6-foot-6), Judge (6-7) and the new Yankee Stadium's short porches in left and right field. He has certainly lived up to the hype in his first at-bat with NY by absolutely crushing a two-run home run.

"I would say not try to be better than he was past year", Stanton said, via the New York Post. Masahiro Tanaka chose to return to the Yankees rather than test free agency. New York's wealth (and hopes for this season) rests in the starting rotation as Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey and Steven Matz are all healthy and ready to shut down the National League. In those three starts, he pitched to a 3.38 ERA while striking out 17 batters in 13.1 innings. Boston has not been the highest-spender since at least 1990, the earliest year figures compiled by Major League Baseball are readily available. The 91-71 campaign ended a four-year drought since the team's last ALCS appearance.

Bird, 25, is considered one of the Yankees' promising young cornerstones alongside Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez. In addition to players, they were able to imprint the Yankees logo and a logo of Yankee Stadium.

Even beyond the trio of Chapman, Betances, and Robertson, the Yankees have impressive arms coming out of the bullpen.

Contending teams had questions about their bullpens, and the Yankees were sitting on the two best arms on the market and a team that was going nowhere fast. The Yankees also have Tommy Kahnle, who would be the 8th inning setup man on most teams but is a middle reliever in New York's deep bullpen.

NY has the most powerful lineup in either league, and the combination of Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge has a chance to join Ruth-Gehrig and Mantle-Maris when it comes to hitting prodigious home runs. The Red Sox-Yankees rivalry is always heated, but it is particularly ferocious when both teams are pennant contenders, as is the case this season. Since it was a road game, NY batted at the start of this game. Walker and Tyler Austin are expected to share first base duties until Bird returns.

The 28-year-old slugger has played in 120-or-more games four times in his eight-year career, but 2017 marked career-highs for him in games played (159), home runs (52), RBI (132) and several other categories, so those signs could bode well for the future. It is easy to understand why, given the potential of the offense and their stellar bullpen. On top of that, there is more than enough depth to survive a few injuries.
