Stormy Daniels Goes On '60 Minutes,' Describes Alleged Affair With Donald Trump

Stormy Daniels, a porn star who alleges of having an affair with US President Donald Trump, has said that she was threatened in 2011 after attempting to sell her story to a magazine, a media report said.

Cooper pointed out that condom use is often an "issue" in the sex work industry, and asked Daniels if Trump used one.

Stormy told 60 Minutes: "I asked [about Melania] and he brushed it aside, said, 'don't worry about that".

According to Daniels she accepted $130,000 from Trump attorney Michael Cohen to stay quiet out of fear of the safety of both her career and her family. While there was not any threat of physical violence at the time, she said, she was anxious about other repercussions.

"The ultimate verdict" on Cooper's interview "will be whether viewers accept his claim that this is serious news", Politico's Michael Calderone wrote.

The adult film star in a firestorm of controversy for her alleged affair with President Donald Trump broke her silence Sunday night. Earlier this week, however, Avenatti - who has engaged in an aggressive PR campaign in his representation of Daniels - tweeted out a picture of a CD/DVD with the caption, "If 'a picture is worth a thousand words, ' how many words is this worth????"

No, she's not willing to be silent.

Stormy Daniels: Yes. So he turned around and pulled his trousers down a little - you know had underwear on and stuff and I just gave him a couple swats. The hush money aligns with his transactional nature.

Trump had dinner Saturday night at Mar-a-Lago with Cohen, an informed source told CNN. Enabling seems to be in the job description for everyone who seeks to remain in Trump's service.

"The Stormy Daniels story is certainly about sex but it's also - and more importantly - about financial and emotional intimidation", Margaret Sullivan wrote in a column for Monday's Washington Post. "And I just felt like maybe, it was sort of, I had it coming for making a bad decision for going to someone's room alone and I just heard the voice in my head, 'Well, you put yourself in a bad situation and bad things happen, so you deserve this'".

The interview, and Cooper's additional reporting, did not leave Daniels unscathed. Why did Stormy sign papers DENYING the affair took place?

She said she was not attracted to Trump at the time. "I'm opening myself up for, you know, possible danger, and definitely a whole lot of s***", she said.

How did Daniels come to play this role?

She said she didn't know who could make her life hell, but that she believed "it to be Michael Cohen". When she emerged, Mr. Trump was "perched" on the edge of the bed-and she knew what that meant. Cohen has said it had nothing to do with the campaign, but the timing suggests it did. But the apparent cover-up is much more recent. In court documents filed last week, Cohen said that Daniels had already breached the contract at least 20 times and that he intends to collect at least $20 million from her.

She claims he compared her to Ivanka Trump during their conversation.

Anderson Cooper: Is part of talking w- wanting to set the record straight?

And in an unrelated case, a NY state Supreme Court judge ruled recently that a defamation case involving the president and a former contestant on The Apprentice who claims he sexually harassed her can move forward in state court, as NPR's Vanessa Romo reported.

While Sunday's interview could end up deepening Trump's legal position, it did not seem to significantly worsen his political position.

Clifford is now suing Trump to have the hush agreement declared void; Trump has, through his lawyers, said that he planned to sue to enforce it.
