MI expected to grind it out against Texas A&M

Texas A&M counters with right-hander Stephen Kolek (3-2, 1.50) against Rolison, lefty John Doxakis (3-0, 1.65) on Friday and right-hander Mitchell Kilkenny (5-0, 1.32) on Saturday. "This is like a great example of a great college basketball player that can play afterwards, too".

The Aggies are seeking to make the Elite Eight for the first time in school history.

Keenan Evans silenced any questions about his health with 23 and 22 points against Stephen F. Austin and Florida to propel the Red Raiders into the second weekend. For now though, let's bask in the glory of an incredible MI victory.

MI is a tough team to turn over, ranking No. 2 in the nation with 9.2 per game. The previous nine times a team seeded No. 8 or lower played in the Elite 8, they've won 6 of those games, including 9-seed Wichita State beating two seed Ohio State in 2013 (so the Big Ten has seen this happen before). It just beat Gonzaga. They had five players score double-digits against Xavier in the second round, and six Seminoles' scored at least seven points in Thursday's win against Gonzaga. But they also finished eighth in the ACC during the regular season with a.500 conference record. Florida State is 9-5 SU and 8-5-1 ATS this season against teams that made the Big Dance.

Kansas State raced out to a quick lead and goes into halftime leading Kentucky 33-29 in the NCAA South Region semifinal. He seemed to have no problem with the length the Aggies threw at him in dishing out five assists and will need a similar kind of effort given how swarming the upcoming opponents can be.

The key for the Wolverines is balance. "You can't take anything away from them". Big men Ike Obiagu and Christ Koumadje may have the bigger challenge in having to clean up the glass and defend the Wolverines' Moritz Wagner when he tries to slip outside. If they try to take quick shots against a very good MI defense, it could lead to run outs for MI if they so choose.

There are times when Duncan Robinson's 3-point shooting has carried the Wolverines.

"All 16 teams that are in this appreciate the opportunity, and all believe they can win", he assured. We might have five guys to start, but they may not be the same five that finish. His responsibility? To try to emulate Robert Williams, Texas A&M's star big man, a potential top 10 pick in this year's National Basketball Association draft (who, as an aside, wasted no time declaring he was done with his time in college immediately after Thursday's loss).

Seventh-seeded Texas A&M squares off against third-seeded MI with a chance to make the Elite Eight for the first time. Phil Cofer was quiet in the Sweet 16 win, notching only seven points on a 2 for 6 mark from the field.

Even after it was clear to the rest of the country MI was on its way to a lopsided Sweet 16 win against Texas A&M, coach John Beilein wasn't about to get comfortable. Texas A&M has freshman point guard TJ Starks and junior Admon Gilder. The Wolverines have sustained great defense for weeks. They rained down 3-point shots. "They pitch it really, really well and three three starters are outstanding".

-Beilein has been a very good tournament coach. He has built a tremendous program. The Wolverines have the look of a team that figured it out.

These type of results shouldn't be a surprise anymore. It was apparent early in this game, however, the Wolverines were not resting on that laurel.
