The Huskers surged into NCAA contention during a stretch in January where they won five straight games, and they were all good ones, against Purdue, Rutgers, twice against Iowa and IL. They hosted Nebraska (22-10) in an exhibition game prior to this season.
Nebraska's game against the Sun Devils (21-12, 10-8 Pac-12) will be the eighth all-time meeting between the Huskers and Arizona State.
On Sunday, it becomes official when the 32-team bracket is unveiled at 5:30 p.m. during the NIT Selection Special on ESPNU. That's when the ESPN projections added the Huskers as the very last team in the NCAA Tournament.

It is also the ninth time in school history UW (20-12) has reached The NIT. "At the end of the day though, they've had a lot of success and we've had some of our own".
After a devastating home loss to Oregon to finish the season, Washington was outmatched by Oregon State for the second time of the year in the opening round of the Pac-12 tourney. On their final NCAA team sheet, the Huskers' RPI was 56, with an average RPI win of 180. Their minutes were limited, and they didn't quite appreciate the sheer amount of work that went into securing that bid in 2015.
