Cech sets Premier League record with 200th clean sheet

- Arsene Wenger registered his 700th Arsenal win in his 1,222nd match in charge of the Gunners.

Deeney had questioned Arsenal's spirit after Watford beat them in October and Wenger said a desire to prove the striker wrong had motivated their performance.

Rob Holding was a bit more forthcoming when he was asked about Deeney's comments, and agreed of course it affected the Arsenal players ahead of today's match.

Though not his best performances, the Gabon global showed his class with a calm finish and also set up Mkhitaryan for his late goal, winning his side three comfortable points.

He may have masterminded the Invicibles, won the double on two separate occasions, lifted the FA Cup three times in the last four seasons and kept the club afloat during the building of the Emirates, but now, he is living on borrowed time. Each player laid on a goal for the other, showing good awareness and selflessness.

"Maybe it doesn't come across as being loud on the pitch - and you don't see it as much - but we do speak when things aren't going as well as planned".

Cech admitted his milestone is pretty impressive, though the relatively long run between clean sheets Nos.

"He won a league past year". It's a groin problem.

Was rarely tested at the back and was afforded space to venture forward where he put in some decent crosses, creating a few chances for his side.

Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers are on the substitutes bench following their midweek exertions while Aaron Ramsey and the aforementioned Koscielny are not in the squad altogether.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Arsenal's second, with Petr Cech saving Troy Deeney's penalty before the former Borussia Dortmund pair combined again for Arsenal's third. Cech - who has not saved a penalty in the Premier League since 2011 - stopped the shot to his right. However, he needs to ensure his customary composure does not creep into being lackadaisical.

Arsenal should have been handed a penalty of their own as Mariappa caught Mkhitaryan with a late challenge inside the box, this time Atkinson gave nothing.

For the second successive game at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal played in front of vast swathes of empty red seats on Sunday.
