Forward Dylan Osetkowski led Texas with 20 points. He did, though won the Big 12 Freshman of the Year award and targets the Big 12 Tournament honour.
Dean WadeKansas State's star player had yet another successful week playing against Big 12 opponents.
While their importance goes up a great deal in this one, neither player has to be great for Kansas to win. No conference has ever sent 80 percent of the league to the NCAA Tournament since 1985 when the field expanded to 64 teams. So tomorrow's game will have no bearing on what the other two games were like. Can Texas Tech win its first Big 12 tournament championship in history? It's almost impossible not to see Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles Jr. "Not as much as he can from being on the court, but he can put his handprint on it being off the court, too". - Two top basketball universities from Kansas will play at the the Big 12 men's basketball tournament Thursday at the Sprint Center. Kansas City has hosted the tournament every year since 2010.
Oklahoma State: The team that swept its regular-season series with Kansas gave its NCAA credentials another boost with its victory over Oklahoma. The Bears' length in their zone defense makes interior passing hard, and West Virginia had 11 turnovers in its first game against BU and 13 in the second. Texas Tech is listed behind the Kansas Jayhawks who are the favorites at +200 and West Virginia at +300. West Virginia forced 21 Baylor turnovers at the Coliseum and 14 at the Ferrell Center. But they have gone 6-12 since and now Trae Young and company could find themselves on the wrong side of the NCAA bubble.
Nelson suggests going online to purchase parking so fans can plan how they will get to the arena. West Virginia will narrowly edge both Baylor and Texas Tech, but with how the Big 12 competition has been this year, certainly anything could happen.
How important is the Big 12 tournament? The Rams won 16 straight games during the middle of the regular season as it looked like they might run away with an unbeaten conference regular season.
Graham, who leads the team with 224 assists (7.2 per game), many of them coming on lobs to Azubuike, said not having the 7-footer on the floor would be "different", and added that he thought his team would likely rely on jump shots a little more. His struggles at the free throw line continued as they have all season shooting under 60% overall.
Since Rhode Island has lost two consecutive games, and three of its last five, then they can badly us a couple of wins this week heading into the NCAA tournament.
The Cowboys rank 89th in rebounds per game (36.7) while the Sooners rank 271st in rebounds allowed per game (38.4). WVU went 4-3 in those games. TCU's non-conference play included wins over Nevada and St. Bonaventure. However, WVU will pull out the win with a strong shooting performance.
Also, Kansas has to beat either Oklahoma State or the University of Oklahoma, who play on Wednesday night. And, heck, even Self said the Jayhawks might have to shoot more 3-pointers or play more zone with the 7-footer out of the lineup.
I'm not sure on which one, but my money would be on either the Wildcats or Jayhawks to take home the Big 12 Title. They'll capture both championships this season because they have the flawless combination of health and well-rounded talent on their side. Arizona State fell 97-85 to Colorado in the Pac-12 Tournament at Las Vegas, while Oklahoma lost 71-60 to Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament at Kansas City.
