How to Watch the Winter Olympics 2018 Closing Ceremony

Figure skating provided NBC with a solid ratings victory on its final Olympic Thursday. Or silver. Or bronze.

Anchor: The PyeongChang Winter Olympics is drawing to an end and Sunday's closing ceremony promises to be both dazzling and breathtaking.

It is also the sixth medal won by a Canadian women's singles skater in Winter Games history.

18, the 10th day of the global sports events, Norway now leads the total medal count at 26, with golds for Ragnhild Haga in cross-country skiing and Aksel Lund Svindal in downhill, who at the age of 35 became the oldest Olympic Alpine skiing champion. "Not only was it great to see them get a gold for the first time in so many years, but it was a big win for the U.S.in general as we have sort of struggled through this Olympics". "I had a dream about [breaking the record], but you never know", she said. "Many did not understand why she wouldn't pull through because it was in her home country, and she said you will strongly feel when it is time to stop".

The concept won emotional support from many South Koreans, but it was also controversial because it took slots away from more talented South Koreans who had trained hard for the Olympics.

The first gold medal won by the United States during the games was achieved by 17-year-old Red Gerard in slopestyle snowboarding. "[That] was special because I had some problems for three years, and then come back again and was at a high level and fighting for all the medals in Vancouver, that was special for me".

Austria's Hirscher, seeking his third gold medal in Pyeongchang, crashed out in the morning run and Kristoffersen of Norway followed suit in the afternoon, leaving the stunned Myhrer to top the podium.

There are also four final events you can watch before the closing ceremony kicks off, including the men's bobsledding, women's cross-country skiing, women's curling and men's hockey.

In the women's 1,000, Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands pulled off an upset, giving the country better known for its long-track success a fourth medal in short track.

The Koreans crashed with 23 laps to go in the men's 5,000-meter relay final, and the same fate befell gold-medal favorites Choi Min-jeong and Shim Suk-hee in the women's 1,000 final.
