NASCAR Predictions: Who will win the Powershares QQQ 300? 2/17/18

Martin Truex Jr. stands on pit road prior to his qualifying run for the NASCAR Daytona 500 auto race at Daytona International Speedway, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, in Daytona Beach, Fla. Ryan Blaney, driving for Roger Penske, won the first duel beating teammate Joey Logano.

Each February, diehard and casual stock vehicle fans alike flock to Daytona Beach, Florida for the annual Speedweeks, which culminates on Sunday with "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. The front row was set last Sunday during qualifying. The second Duel completed the even-numbered spots. Ford drivers swept all 4 restrictor plate races in 2017, and have looked strong all Speedweeks long. The guy in the pole position, Alex Bowman?

Both 24-years old, the friendship between Blaney and Wallace is well known - lots of Twitter love, at-track support and general well-documented good times together.

"Yeah, he did a good job all night, I was watching the whole time", Blaney said of Wallace.

Cameras, Cameras EverywhereFox Sports will deploy a record number of in-car cameras during the Daytona 500.

"I had Brad [Keselowski] pushing me and then the next thing I know they wadded up behind me again and the 100-feet I didn't lead the race gave Blaney control", Logano said. "We were here until, I think, 2 a.m". I just moved up a little bit too late. I think we're gearing up to do that. As Earnhardt drove toward victory lane, crew members from almost every team lined up to congratulate him.

"We definitely have to work on the handling to make it better", Harvick said. "That would be the one that counts". Jimmie Johnson has raced three times as the defending series champ but didn't finish higher than 27th.

If it's anything like the cars Team Penske has fielded all week at Daytona, Keselowski will be in great shape. I was kind of the middle.

"As I entered the tri-oval, it finally went flat and hooked me around and into to Aric, unfortunately".

Almirola was a victim of Johnson's misfortune. Some days would end with a wreck, though most would just find him meandering across the finish line somewhere mid-pack. The one with the pencils in her frazzled hair, looking over her glasses through the smoke of a just-exploded chemistry experiment. But there's arguably never been a better Daytona 500 moment.

Rookie William Byron was another casualty of the first Duel. Byron's vehicle nosed into the outside wall and subsequently dropped out of the race. Mexico's Daniel Suarez, after compiling more top-10 finishes in his single season last year (12) than Patrick did in six years (7), will be starting his second Daytona 500. That tension exists in many races, but Joy said it's particularly notable with Daytona, thanks to it being such a widely-watched race and also coming at the start of the season, rather than partway in.

Maybe even three of them. I didn't really like the Eagles because they beat my Falcons.

"We got to the front and but couldn't stay there".

"I don't really know if anybody has it figured out". Other short odds to win are Chase Elliott (+500) and Kyle Larson (+650). "I think that a lot of people went into tonight thinking everyone was going to take it easy because there weren't eliminations or anything", said Logano, who won the Daytona 500 three years ago. But we all just felt like that was our day.

Who? Well, the guy who got Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s coveted seat at Hendrick Motorsports when concussions forced the superstar to retire. Because for the rest of the year, I don't think the Fords will be as competitive as the other manufacturers, as I'll touch on that matter and my thoughts of the rest of the upcoming season sometime next week.
