Kohli best batsmen in the world‚ says coach Ravi Shastri

The Delhi batting maestro once again showed his hunger for runs by blasting third ton in the series and round off the series victory with a win at Centurion. When asked about the result, Shastri was all praise for the skipper and he said that the team gets its "intensity" from Kohli.

Proteas stand-in skipper Aiden Markram is grateful for his brutal baptism into ODI captaincy in the series loss to India.

"One thing history tells me, I have been coming here since 1992, there is not one South African side in the world that anyone can say is a weak side". It'sa joy to watch him play and he has definitely got the talent to dominate as a batsman. My only motivation is to get into that frame of mind.

"I think it's a great reality check for us and it's about each and every player seeing themselves in the mirror and how they can improve, to try and stake a claim for that 15-man squad in a year's time".

One aspect of the problem is that as Benkenstein said after the second match - which De Villiers and Du Plessis missed due to injury - this was South Africa's next best group of players.

India were at their dominant best against the hosts on Friday as they looked in control of the game from the very first over. I want to make the most of it. Want to train as hard as I can. If anything‚ I always look to help my team in any way that I can. "But definitely in this format you will see more aggressive approach so we will see how it works out in our favour". After losing the three-match Test series 1-2, Indian team were berated by fans and cricket pundits from all quarters.

"It's crucial that we learn from our mistakes".

The spotlight will also be on MS Dhoni, with his form in T20s being questioned with every passing series. It was something I was looking forward to and a challenge that I enjoy.

"They also bowled very well in the middle overs, they controlled those, and were able to strike up front".

Following their historic One-Day International (ODI) series victory, a ruthless India will aim to continue that form in the shortest format when they face South Africa in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Wanderers here on Sunday. I can totally empathize with him because I've been in that position. If I was in your position I know what I would be doing tomorrow.

South Africa´s batsmen had struggled to bat fluently on a slow pitch but Kohli struck the ball with power and precision to reach his fifty off 36 balls and his 35th one-day global century off 82 deliveries with 17 fours.

When further asked about the kind of impact the Indian skipper had on the series, which the visitors won by 5-1, the coach said, "Huge (impact)!"
