My parents brimmed with pride on watching 'Padmaavat': Deepika

Amid threats of life and violence, Padmaavat was released on Thursday all over India, except for five states, which are considered to generate 25 percent of revenue for an Indian movie, despite the Supreme Court's order to remove the ban.

"Padmaavat" is the third film that trio Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have done together, they had collaborated in the past for blockbusters "Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela" and "Bajirao Mastani".

The period drama has taken the Box Office by storm and raked in Rs 56 crore in two days of its release. It hit the screens a day before the Republic Day holiday, but paid previews on January 24 had given its earnings a jump-start of Rs 4.25 crore.

Just as the movie got its release, Ranveer bagged all the attention followed by Deepika, and it is Shahid who was deserted both in terms of shooting and post-release moments.

He added, "Looking at the overall scenario, #Padmaavat has put up FANTASTIC numbers in its extended weekend".

The fringe group threatened to chop off Deepika's nose and ears and announced to pay the person willing to do so a whopping prize money of Rs 1 crore. Now according to the early trends, the Ranveer Singh performer film Padmaavat collected 31 crores in Sunday, its fourth day.

Not one to usually keep a track of the number game, Deepika said: "This time, I am talking about it because I feel a sense of responsibility". Well, the actress truly deserves to celebrate the film's phenomenal success. As I don't stay with them, they don't know much in detail about the role or the film.

Though it garnered mixed reviews, the film starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, is still going great guns at the box office.

While parts of north India saw violence owing to the release of the film, police maintained a tight vigil outside theaters in Mumbai screening the film.
