Liverpool boss Klopp issues an update on status of attakcer

Henderson has his critics but Klopp does not understand why the 27-year-old provokes such a negative reaction in some quarters.

IT'S wonderful to think that with the January transfer window closing at 11pm, the Premier League has scheduled a round of fixtures for tonight and tomorrow.

"It's not too easy to play around".

After an 18-match unbeaten run the Reds have now lost to Swansea and, in the FA Cup, West Brom but Klopp insists that does not point to a deficiency in his squad despite having chosen not to replace playmaker Philippe Coutinho following his £142million sale to Barcelona. Early in the game [Andrew] Robertson in behind, Salah alone, Sadio [Mané] twice - more moments than three goals, but it was hard to play, they defended well.

If you looked at them from the right angle, the match away to Huddersfield Town-Liverpool's third consecutive to one of the top flight's basement dwellers-may have resembled something akin to a banana peel.

"We are both in a situation where we need the points - Liverpool can have all the points they want in the Premier League - just not the ones tonight".

Jurgen Klopp believes the drop-off in form from his Liverpool stars since their rousing win over Manchester City undermines their claims to be world-class performers.

"Laughable. Not only would we accept any amount of injury time, we had no need to rush off air.it's also impossible for us to influence such a decision".

"We started in front, our offensive play was okay, but in the defence we had problems", Matip told Liverpoolfc.com after the West Brom defeat.

"We are always speaking; about the Premier League, opponents, players".

The Beninese global failed to have a single shot on goal against Liverpool on Tuesday night and had just 17 touches of the ball, fewer than any other player who started the match.

Liverpool bounced back from two straight losses with a 3-0 win at Huddersfield that cemented the team's place in the top four of the Premier League on Tuesday.

"No chance [of Ings moving], we will see what happens". You can only strengthen if the right players are available. Given they have seen their team surrender a succession of stupid goals this season, over-confidence is not something Liverpool followers have tended to indulge in.

"At the moment it's still a success due to their position in the league and the way they've been playing", he says.

"We could have done better, but we scored the first goal".
