Newport manager Mike Flynn 'gutted' not to beat Tottenham

An illness spread through the Tottenham camp prior to the 1-1 draw against Southampton last week, and that has taken a couple of scalps, while Spurs' injury list is getting longer.

The Premier League bottom side, Swansea, faced a replay after drawing at Notts County 1-1.

Newport County manager Michael Flynn said that he was the "proudest manager in the country" after seeing his side draw 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fourth round.

Chelsea face Newcastle in another all top-flight clash on Sunday when league leaders Manchester City continue their bid for an unprecedented "quadruple" away to second-tier Cardiff.

The raucous home fans finished the match, which had the feel of a proper cup tie, by chanting: "Wem-ber-ley, Wem-ber-ley!"

Carlow man Padraig Amond has scored 11 goals this season for League Two's Newport County.

A floating ball was put into the box by Robbie Willmott that found the head of Pádraig Amond, who snuck it past Goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

Dele Alli even came on in the second half to try and rescue the game.

They finally got their reward when a corner from the left was flicked on by Son for Kane to sweep in at the far post.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino named a strong side for the trip to Wales, with Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier and Kane all starting at Rodney Parade.

'We've got a good bunch of people running the club and I'm sure they'll make the right decisions'.

Besides Lucas Moura, who PSG want 23 million pounds for, Spurs have also been heavily linked with another Brazilian winger in Bordeaux's Malcom. "Not just keep them ticking over".

The two sides' previous FA Cup meeting was in January 1960 when Danny Blanchflower was among the Spurs scorers in a 4-0 third-round win at Somerton Park.

With 32 minutes gone Kane was within a whisker of giving the Londoners the lead, hitting the post after combination play between Llorente and Moussa Sissoko had created the opening.

"The key for the game was to match them with motivation fight and desire", he told the media after th match.

As a result, Newport will head to Wembley Stadium for a replay in the week commencing February 5.
