"We gave out the injury report yesterday and we'll update it today", he told reporters. About a month ago, when Brady returned to a full week of practice after having missed sessions in prior weeks, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked about how much his absences affect the team. Hoyer, meanwhile, began the season as San Francisco's starting quarterback.
Brady's contribution to the session was as a gridiron version of "Tommy Two Gloves", the nickname given US PGA veteran Tommy Gainey for playing with wet weather gloves on each hand.
The Patriots quarterback was originally supposed to meet with the media on Wednesday, but that got pushed back to Thursday after Brady injured his hand in practice.
Bledsoe won the Patriots' first AFC Championship game in 1996, when he led New England past the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-6.
The five-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback has worn red gloves on both hands during practice the past two days, and he wore the gloves while addressing the media Friday as well. Thursday's media availability was then postponed to Friday. "So they're a good defence".
"I'm not talking about that", Brady said several times. "So that's going to be a big key in this game".
"It's a huge concern", added Steve Haynes of Norfolk. Hoyer does have the advantage of being a bit more mobile than Brady, and fans can expect the Jaguars to test Hoyer early if Brady is unable to play.
And like a true Patriot, Hoyer was determined not to play along.
Yeah, right now, my thoughts are getting ready for Jacksonville.
Yeah, I don't know. I hope to finish the season strong with a pair of wins this weekend! Once they win, which they have been, it's spring into action.
And on the third day, Tom Brady spoke.
The defense did score against the Steelers on Telvin Smith's 50-yard fumble return and may have to score again if the Jaguars are going to knock off the Patriots. The Patriots punched their ticket to the title game with a 35-14 drubbing of the Tennessee Titans. If Gipson can not play, the Jaguars would be forced to use second-year player Jarrod Wilson, who has played mainly on special teams this season.
One more week to go before the Super Bowl. They've handled the situations that have come up in those games very well - fourth-and-1 in the first quarter, things like that.
