Dr. Jackson went on to explain that after close observation of the president for over a year now it did not deem it necessary to perform cognitive tests but did so upon the president's request.
Still, at the president's request, Jackson did an assessment to screen for any cognitive impairment such as Alzheimers - and Trump got a ideal score.
His physician has revealed that he personally asked for the tests to be carried out as part of his first medical check-up as president.
Asked how Trump could stay healthy on a diet that includes McDonald's and Diet Cokes, Jackson said: "It's called genetics - I don't know".
Discussing the issue of North Korea's nuclear ambitions in an interview Wednesday with Reuters, Trump took a swing at former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton for their approaches to the rogue nation.
The president's tests indicated someone in "excellent" health for their age, Dr. Jackson said, although Trump's body mass index indicates he is overweight and just below obese, prompting the doctor to suggest he cut down on fatty foods.
He said Trump not drinking or smoking has had a big impact on his health.

Trump was 70 when he took office on January 20, 2017, making him the oldest person ever elected to the presidency.
"The president's overall health is excellent", Jackson said.
He did say he was open to changing his diet, perhaps with smaller portion sizes on White House meals. At one point in the briefing, Jackson said Trump weighs 239 pounds and stands 6-foot-3. The President's total cholesterol was 223.
Donald Trump's doctor has said he has "no concerns" about the state of the USA president's mental health, despite recent concerns raised about whether he was fit for duty.
Jackson said Trump has avoided some big heart risks - he's never smoked and isn't diabetic - and has no family history of heart problems.
