WR Coleman ruled out for Saints-Vikings

The two teams faced off back in September with the Vikings beating the Saints 29-19 at this same U.S. Bank Stadium on opening day. The Vikings will need to keep an eye on this running back duo throughout the game. With 8 Super Bowl appearances and thirty playoff appearances throughout the team's history, this is another team to watch. Or is it more pathetic to not even be able to get there?
After sabotaging what should have been a playoff season a year ago, how ironic would it be for the kicking game to bail out the Saints in their biggest challenge this season? "I know they knew I was a good player, they kept me there for four years".
Indeed, Jordan was named first-team Associated Press All-Pro for the first time in his career this season - his seventh since being New Orleans' first of two first-round draft choices in 2011 out of California. This week is a big one since the Minnesota Vikings are facing off against the New Orleans Saints.
That game must still knaw at Favre, especially since it turned out to be his last best shot at playing in his third Super Bowl (XXXI, XXXII).
The Vikings (13-3) enter Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints with the best third-down defense in the National Football League, allowing conversions to a new set of downs 25.2 percent of the time in 16 regular-season games.
"I think they understand the magnitude of where we're at in the playoffs and that New Orleans is a heck of a football team", Zimmer said Monday afternoon, when the Vikings reconvened for preparation. But, he said, is "full-on most of the time". It didn't happen to them.
That's the right approach, because it's true. Gary Anderson's miss notwithstanding, the Falcons admirably slowed the Vikings' record-setting offense in 1998. The six-year veteran, who went undrafted and started his career on the Texans' practice squad, completed 325-of-481 passes for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns against seven interceptions. That isn't a curse, it's not being good enough.
"We knew studying him as a returner, he didn't have a ton of experience at Tennessee", special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said.
However, during the previous three seasons, the moribund Saints secondary proved capable of playing well for one game, but the pass defense finished 2016 ranked 32nd, 2015 ranked 31st and 2014 ranked 25th. They also struggled both in run defense and in containing McCaffrey in the wild-card round.
Can the Vikings do the same thing?
Brees can put a defense on the ropes with his bevy of weapons on offense, but it'll be lights out for the Vikings if they allow Thomas to get going.
Vikings fans surely will feel like Bridgewater, as he has since returning to practice in October, should continue operating as Keenum's backup.
