Merson predicts the victor of the clash between Tottenham and Everton

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Harry Kane can go on to break "all the records" in the Premier League.

And of course, let's not forget he matched his own record on Saturday, scoring in five successive home Premier League games and will be hoping to surpass this against Manchester United in a few weeks' time (January 31).

Harry Kane has scored more than 20 goals in this season.

Spinning on a dime in the 47th minute to embarrass Jonjoe Kenny, Son intelligently zipped the ball into Kane's path, providing Spurs the springboard from which to launch. The 25-year-old South Korean made a pass to Dele Alli who then back heeled the ball for Christian Eriksen's goal.

As well as Son and Kane, Alli also proved a constant pain to the Everton midfield and defence.

Fifth-placed Tottenham moved to 44 points and are level with Liverpool who take on league leaders Manchester City on Sunday.

The visitors thought they had broken the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Rooney diverted Tosun's header past Hugo Lloris from close range but celebrations were cut short by the offside flag.

"I think we played very well, it's not just me because the team-mates help me that's why I score a lot of goals at Wembley", he said.

Martina is genuinely the worst defender I've ever seen. Yet there was little that Tosun could do about another hopeless away performance from Everton, who collapsed in the second half, and it was not his fault that he was reduced to playing second fiddle to Harry Kane.

"He is always thinking "improve, improve, improve and how to score goals and to improve the team" because his mentality is always collective and that is so important to explain to people".

Mauricio Pochettino's men are in need of all three points as they look to keep pace in the race for the top four while Sam Allardyce's side can not afford to get complacent at the other end of the league despite a positive recent run of form.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth striker Jermaine Defoe won the Carling Premier League December Goal of the Month award.

Everton's players should not need reminding of their responsibilities on social media, according to manager Sam Allardyce.

That means Kane will not be leaving and Spurs will fend off bids for the likes of Alli, Eriksen, Danny Rosem Toby Alderweireld etc.
