Biggest ever OnePlus screen for new 5T flagship smartphone

Some of them were pleasant, some of them were not.

Nevertheless, Apple's Face ID takes new form in the OnePlus 5T. That said, OnePlus has also announced that the OnePlus 5 will get open Beta for Android Oreo within this month. It's largely evaded questions of how this is possible, maintaining a loyal following of power users and tech enthusiasts sold on its high-performance phones with near-stock Android.

When the OnePlus 5 launched, many people were disappointed by some of its specs and its dated looks.

As expected, OnePlus has launched its new smartphone, OnePlus 5T at an event in NY.

With all of the OnePlus 5T news, and the admittedly righteous anger from some of the OP community, it's easy to forget about yesteryear's phones. Additionally, HDFC Bank debit and credit cards users are eligible for a Rs 1,500 instant discount on a purchase of OnePlus 5T through till 2nd December 2017.

It's quite a dramatic change over the OnePlus 5, but OnePlus has kept the changes to a minimum elsewhere, physically at least.

Camera: When it comes to camera features, the OnePlus 5T sports the same one that was present in the OnePlus 5. OnePlus also claimed that the new 5T features "Intelligent Pixel Technology" for capturing more light in low-light situations. The front camera will be 16MP while the rear camera is 20MP. Also, don't miss the 3.5mm audio jack has been retained.

The OnePlus 5 debuts "Face Unlock", which uses more than 100 unique identifiers to unlock the OnePlus 5T and it reads them using the phone's standard front-facing camera. Where the new phone can yours starting from $499, the OG 5 is priced at $479. The new flagship from OnePlus comes with a 6 inch AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

One of the biggest disappointments for OnePlus fans was that the new OnePlus 5T still ships with Android Nougat.

Even in terms of feel, the OnePlus 5T manages a much smoother finish as compared to the iPhone X. While the steel sides do offer the iPhone X a premium feel, it isn't really as smooth as the OnePlus 5T's. This makes it look great, but also more fragile. Performance in our quick hands-on time felt very zippy, as it typically is when a powerful 835 chip is driving a 1080p screen.

OnePlus 5T has been launched in India at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage variant, and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB model. It does not sacrifice security for speed though, as the feature only really unlocks the OnePlus 5T. As far as the battery and the operating system versions go, the Galaxy Note8 is the same as the OnePlus 5T. Other smartphone OEMs like Samsung and Nokia are also preparing Android Oreo updates for their smartphones. Fans have started calling time on the brand, which has faced calls to "stop faking it" by rebranding old phones from its parent company. Of course, it has some extra features to offer, like the S Pen support and the higher-end materials for its price.

One of the most popular OnePlus cases is the Sandstone case, which matches the styling of the original first few phones from the company.
