Florida's third-down defense was a surprising struggle against LSU

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the crowd's singing was spontaneous as Tom Petty's famous song blared from the stadium's sound system during the second half of the game.

Georgia moves up as the 4th ranked team in the country while Auburn holds the No. 10 spot. Defensively, Derrick Brown and Jeff Holland combined for a sack as the lone highlight in the otherwise decent performance from the Auburn D, allowing 429 yards of total offense in the win.

Coming off a stretch in which the Tigers lost two of three games - including one to Sun Belt Conference member Troy at home, they got back into the win column by edging Florida 17-16 at The Swamp.

Down 17-3, the Gators rallied for a pair of touchdown drives to climb back into the game, but they couldn't recover from Pineiro's missed PAT. "That's nearly 50 points for three straight weeks; that's a pretty good stride. We just have to finish at the end". Only one of LSU's top-15 most attended games in program history was played during the day. He's scheduled to work more games this season, he said, and serve as a studio analyst for CBS on the weekend that LSU meets Alabama, Nov. 4. "They're doing a super job".

If neither Malone nor Weathersby can play, there will be three true freshmen on the offensive line, as was the case for most of the Florida game - Saahdiq Charles at left tackle, Austin Deculus at right tackle and normal starter Ed Ingram at right guard. I would compare it to any group in the country.

LSU and its first-year coach badly needed a win.

The combined records of Auburn's first six opponents is 15-16, 12-13 among the five FBS teams, compared to 25-9 for its remaining six foes.

LSU's Tiger Stadium seats 102,321, and on Saturday, leading tackler Devin White expects the stadium to be full for the game against Auburn.

"Just like Arden [Key], it will take awhile to get him in game shape", Orgeron said. "We're in a good spot as a team right now".

But there's certainly no need for LSU to apologize for it.

"It's heartbreaking", UF safety Chauncey Gardner said. You play like a LSU Tiger. "Got off to a tough start, had a few growing pains in some areas". No one blinked. This team made the decision on Monday that they were going to win this football game under any conditions. You truly get to see how much Petty meant to our culture.

"Based on the alignment, it looked like they had a little piece of a check at the line", McElwain said.
