Updates with new lead, quotes. The Seahawks didn't simply invest those resources in Pocic to have him sit on the sidelines.
At 3-2, the Rams will provide ammunition for those critics who had been waiting for LA to become "LA" again.
During his press conference later Monday Carroll was asked about sounding optimistic that Prosise would play based on the workout before the Colts game and said: "Well that was my look at it".
RED ZONE WOES: While the Rams' offence has been undeniably transformed by McVay, it still can't score touchdowns consistently. The Rams drove from their own 3 late, going 96 yards.
It's fair to start with McVay, the 31-year-old first-year coach and play-caller who deservedly earned high praise as the Rams scored the most points of any National Football League team in the season's first four weeks. He already has thrown for 7 touchdowns on the season and has only thrown one interception. Jared Goff completed 47 percent of his passes with two interceptions and a lost fumble, struggling to deal with Seattle's constant pressure. "But he's no Tom Brady yet". This year's Seahawks haven't been one of those teams - at least through their first five games.
The Rams have surprisingly jumped to the fifth ranked passing attack. Los Angeles trailed 24-16 at halftime and held the Cowboys to just six points in the second half as they scored the next 15 points in the game. However, the Rams are giving up 151.5 yards rushing per game, third-most in the league. "We just weren't finishing drives. We've got to find a way to close the door". That's where it shows up.
On defense, the Rams have had trouble stopping opposing offenses the past two weeks against San Francisco and Dallas.
L.A. scored a field goal to capitalize on the takeaway.
On 3rd-and-11, Austin lined up in the backfield as the running back next to quarterback Jared Goff and took a handoff on an inside run. Rams rookie John Johnson intercepted his pass in the second quarter and returned it 69 yards, but Wilson made a possible touchdown-saving tackle.
But on further review, Gurley had actually fumbled before stepping out of bounds at the one-yard line.
"It was nothing that Todd wasn't doing", McVay said.
For this trip back to L.A. Carroll brought in one of the greatest National Basketball Association players of all time to speak to his team. This is the start of a young core that could help to make the Rams contenders.
This time, he's got healthy legs to get away from the Rams' swarming defensive front. Limiting explosive plays from Gurley will go a long ways towards a Seahawks win on Sunday.
That was for defensive-line depth with Cliff Avril out indefinitely and Quinton Jefferson out after breaking his hand Wednesday in practice. "There were plays all over the place that we didn't do good enough". Rams safeties Lamarcus Joyner and Maurice Alexander were inactive. "It was nothing disciplinary", McVay said, calling it a personnel decision. They will then have a bye and then travel to play the New York Giants.
Rams: At Jacksonville on Sunday before traveling to London.
