Fans of horror and sci-fi had even more reason to be delighted by the show, which featured many references to popular genre films, in addition to the overall tone honoring the likes of Stephen Spielberg and Stephen King.
The game also features numerous locations from the show such as Mirkwood Forest, Hawkins Lab, and the Upside-Down.
In the game, the player takes control of a number of characters from the show, each of whom has their own abilities.
Gameplay wise it conjures up a lot of 90s nostalgia, which is ironic.
I'm yet to play the game myself - I'm downloading it now - but according to Gamesradar it's quite chunky, with six dungeons and seven characters to choose from.
It looks absolutely wonderful.
You can pick up Stranger Things: The Game for free via the App Store on iOS or the Google Play Store for Android users. After all, there seems to be an appetite for Stranger Things video game content, as we've seen a couple of impressive fan projects in the past connect the series to games.
