In the case of the new Pixels, that mostly means that they're going to work perfectly with the device's new Active Edge feature for activating Google Assistant.
The Pixel 2 has a 5-inch display and is priced at $AUD 1079 for the 64GB version and $AUD 1229 for 128GB. You don't need a new Pixel for it - you just need an Android phone with Google Assistant, meaning most new Android phones, as well as last year's Pixel (and the new Pixel 2, of course). You'll be able to preorder on October 20th at Telstra and JB Hi-FI stores.
The much waited Google event for sure a surprising one with surprising gadgets revealed. If you live in Canada, you get a little more time - the deadline for storing "original quality" photos and videos on the Google Photos cloud ends on January 15, 2021.
The Pixel 2 will start at $649 while the 2 XL starts at $849. The Google Clip, attached to an object and aimed at a scene, uses artificial intelligence to identify the best moments and take photos and short videos.
Both devices are compatible with Google's latest Daydream VR head gear and have a minimum of three years of security and operating system updates guaranteed.
The headphones will be able to translate 40 languages via Google Translate in nearly real time, using built-in microphone, but will only work with the Pixel. The Pixel Buds start at $159 and should ship in the next six weeks.
"As you talk, your Pixel phone's speaker will play the translation in Italian out loud".
