The letter sent to parents in the school's Gurgaon branches states, "We already have CCTV cameras outside toilets to keep a closer watch in this vulnerable area".
Francis and Jeyus were arrested on Sunday night following interrogation, Gurugram Police Commissioner Sandeep Khairwar told the media.
Meanwhile, the bus driver Saurabh, who was with the accused moments before the crime, disclosed that police and ryan school management forced him to adopt their version of event, which claimed that conductor Ashok brought the knife inside the school premises as it was part of the tool kit.
Thakur has knocked the door of the Supreme Court seeking CBI investigation into the matter. The possible danger was known to the school authorities, but no preventive steps were taken. "We will add Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other sections on the basis of SIT report. We reached here this morning", a Gurgaon Police official said without elaborating. It is unknown whether the owners are guilty of security lapse in the school.
"All these red flags beg the question whether the trustees, management & Principal of this school should be trusted with the running of a school at all!"As a result, police had to be called in and lathicharge was used to disperse the crowds.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to look into the murder of the seven-year-old Gurugram student had pointed out serious security lapses in the school including the lack of separate toilets for staff like drivers and conductors.
The Pinto family - Ryan, Augustine and Grace - has sought transit pre-arrest relief so that they can seek appropriate reliefs before a court in Haryana, where the gruesome incident has taken place.
Earlier, the principal of the Gurugram-based school was suspended, the lawyer of the victim's parents said. A parallel CBI Probe was also demanded by the victim's father, Varun Thakur, as the school had severe administrative loopholes.
A fervent appeal to all schools; please do not cut corners while appointing staff or bus service. The management of the school must enhance the security of students. The fact that Ashok made it to the children's toilet with no one stopping him from doing so is evidence of how lax the schools vigilance was. However, the parents of the deceased child claim that the school is making bus conductor a scapegoat and the real culprit is on the run.
The ghastly murder of seven-year-old Praduman has left several unanswered questions, especially after police found the toilet where he was killed had three windows with no grills.
