Browns anxious Myles Garrett will miss games with ankle injury

The top overall pick in this years draft got hurt in practice on Wednesday, while the Browns were having their first full practice in preparation for Sundays season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Again, I'm not in the least concerned with the outcome as Pittsburgh will win; I'll watch the game and only pay attention to how the Steelers will perform at a few spots. Garrett sustained a lateral sprain to his left foot during minicamp while pressuring former Browns quarterback Brock Osweiler.

Kessler started in April and the No. 1 QB before being replaced by Brock Osweiler after 9 training camp practices.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Garrett was limited by a left ankle sprain past year at Texas A&M.

"It feels good that coach has confidence in me to go out there and make some plays", Hogan said. I know I can get up and go now, so that's not a thing I'm anxious about. The Steelers see Kizer as a talented thrower who's a good fit for coach Hue Jackson's vertical passing offense. "I'm going to take the opportunities that are given to me". But pressure and rush lane integrity go together like Mike & Ike, peanut butter and jelly, and me and my irrational man-crush on Danny Smith.

Forty-nine of the 59 players on the Browns active roster (counting those on injured reserve) have been acquired by the new regime over the past year and a half: 20 in the past two drafts, four via trades, 13 as free agents and 12 off waivers. More information on Garrett's condition should be available by Friday. "(Maurkice) Pouncey, then (Marcus) Gilbert, then Antonio (Brown), those dudes hit me as soon as I got released, 'Joe, come to the Steelers'".

I'd love to pay more attention to the Browns; I'd love to get more up for this actual opponent here - but that franchise has given me no reason whatsoever. Yet they did question his readiness to contribute this season: He played just two seasons in the secondary in college after beginning his career as a wide receiver. "Speaking of one like Taylor Gabriel, he was a bright slot receiver, but when you have a quarterback that is giving it to him like (Falcons quarterback) Matt Ryan and the offense that they have, they're able to shine". It's likely the Browns will add another pass rusher in his absence, and Nate Orchard and Carl Nassib each move up in the rotation.

Tomlin said he's comfortable going with rookie third-round pick James Conner if Bell is limited in Cleveland. Mitchell hasn't missed a game during his three seasons despite being one of the most punishing hitters in the league. "He just has stuff that you can't teach - his motor, his professionalism and his attitude".

"It'll definitely be unusual and odd to see him in a Steelers jersey", 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas said of Haden. He is mature beyond his age.

Expect a solid game from Bell, and a decent amount of carries, but nothing close to what he usually gets.
