The phone runs on the LG UX and offers the users with a number of innovative features. The V30 on the other hand doesn't have a reputation for blowing up, so it will be interesting to see which device comes out on top with consumers. We tried this out and were impressed with how smooth the zooming in is compared to most other phones. It's the first time LG has moved away from LCD panels (since the G Flex 2, anyway) and it should result in a more vivid viewing experience.
Another signature feature of the V-series is the MIL-STD rugged certification (surprising considering how it looks so refined on the outside), which has made a return here.
Meanwhile the second camera, which has a slower, plastic lens, is ultra-wide-angle. It has thickness of 7.3mm and weighs just 158g.
As per the specifications, the LG V30 sports a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with 1440 x 2880 pixel resolution, 538ppi and HDR 10 support. That screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, too, so movies, TV shows, and photos should look their best. In addition to video recording with Hi-Fi audio, there's also a feature called Cine Effect which produces more cinematic videos.
At its core, the phone is built around a G6-style 18:9 aspect ratio display, with curved corners and very slim bezels.
"The latest hardware meets a luscious OLED display in a high-quality design that offers waterproofing and drop protection". Here, the OLED display over LCD is an advantage in LG V30. Both will support microSD card (up to 2TB). Here, LG V30 is better with a better chipset.
Consequently, it was hard for many reviewers, us included, to recommend the LG G6 in spite of its many other admirable qualities; the simple fact was that it was using last year's tech in a brand new flagship. The phone also comes out with an Always On Display allows the users to choose any background they want.
The company has also worked on the optics and apparently the LG V30 is the first phone to feature a f/1.6 aperture camera.
LG said V30 users will be able to use voice recognition to issue commands even when the phone is locked. The V30 features a dual camera setup with f/1.6 aperture. this means your images will get more light when clicked even in dynamic settings. There is a 16-megapixel normal lens on the rear with a 70-degree field of view and optical image stabilization (OIS).
A second lens in the dual-camera is a 13MP wide angle lens on the front for selfies, which decreases distortion by two-thirds. On the front, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. What you need to know is that expensive headphones will sound better with this phone than your average Galaxy or iPhone thanks to a more powerful amplifier, while audio aficionados are able to tweak almost every setting imaginable to achieve the flawless sound.
As with a lot of phones now, there will be a 128GB V30+ model but this will be limited to certain markets. It will be more expensive as well. This comparison was based on specs on paper.
