Who Won The Cleveland/Boston Trade?

The dilemma for the Cavaliers not knowing the plans of LeBron James after this season as they explored Irving trade options is they don't know if they should try to get younger for the future if James leaves or put veterans around James to go all-in this year.

In addition to Thomas, the Celtics also sent Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the rights to the 2018 first round pick they acquired from Brooklyn, to the Cavs in exchange for Irving. With that said, he's coming off a scary hip injury suffered in last spring's Eastern Conference Finals.

Kyrie Irving is a four-time All-Star who's also the best around-the-rim finisher in the National Basketball Association. We've got him for two years. There are three college freshman - skilled big man DeAndre Ayton of Arizona, do-it-all point forward Michael Porter of Missouri, and the electric NBA-ready power forward Marvin Bagley - as well as Luka Doncic, a smart, skilled Slovenian combo guard who plays in the Spanish professional league. "Isaiah's play-off performance under very hard circumstances will live on in history, and we wish them all the best".

The rumour mill surrounding a potential Irving trade had quietened in recent weeks, but it always seemed likely he would be playing for a different team during the upcoming season.

2012 - Receives the Rookie of the Year award, averaging 18.5 points per game. Unsung players like Rozier are who drives teams to greater success than imaginable. He loves to pound the ball and initiate the offence - well LeBron is the guy that handles the rock in Cleveland.

But the Cavaliers decided that the only appropriate value for Irving lay in the East. Crowder can help them out immediately, Zizic is intriguing and the Nets are nearly certainly going to nosedive again so the draft pick is going to be a high one.

If you haven't heard, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Irving, their superstar point guard to the Boston Celtics. Last season, Crowder posted career-highs in rebounds (5.8), assists (2.2), field-goal percentage (46.3) and 3-point percentage (39.8) while averaging 13.9 points, second-best of his six seasons.

Irving joins a Celtics squad that finished first in the Eastern Conference during the regular season last season but was bounced by the Cavaliers in five games the Eastern Conference finals. He averaged 28.9 points a game a year ago.
