Samsung is working on a Bixby-powered smart speaker

All the company officials were quite enthusiastic at the event. This marks a momentous moment for the company post the poor exit of Note 7 a year ago. Most people thought that the failure of Note 7 means the end of Note series.

The company says that the Galaxy Note 8 would prove a matchless device for the Note lovers.

Samsung will allow its digital assistant Bixby to be integrated with rival products from washing machines to TVs, the company's mobile chief told CNBC, in a move that could position it to become the operating system of many internet-connected devices. It also matches the wireless charging expected to be introduced as an Apple first with the iPhone 8, and includes iris scanning biometric security.

The Note 8 also offers numerous features included on the Galaxy S8 model, released earlier this year, such as an iris scanner.

Verizon and Sprint will start off their Note 8 prices with a $30 surplus, making it $960 at their full retail cost. It's a big phone with an equally big price tag.

No other details about the pre-orders were given, but Samsung said the smartphone will be offered in four shades: Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Maple Gold and Deepsea Blue.

Samsung armed the Note 8 to the teeth. First of all, we need to mention that it comes with a 6.3-inch super AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 2960×1440 pixels at 521 ppi.

With a huge Infinity display, two cameras on the back and tons of extra features there's a lot to like.

From the presentation, here is what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. True the new Note 8 is yet to earn its baptism from the public though things seem to shape up well enough for the phablet. The global version of the phone is powered by Samsung's Exynos 8895 octa-core processor, which is similar in quality to the one used in HTC U 11, OnePlus 5, Nokia 8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium phones. However, the worldwide version, of the same device will run on an Exynos 8895 SoC which is a home-grown Samsung chip. Galaxy Note 8 also takes the lead in terms of RAM. As like as previous Gera S3, it may have SIM card slot.

For photography, there is the dual rear camera set up.

They are 12MP each, with one taking wide angle shots while the other is a telephoto lens.

Note 8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top.

The smartphone also comes with USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Put two and two together and we're sure the Samsung smart speakers will impress the markets.
