'Spectacular' Sanchez would improve Bayern, says Vidal

Arsenal are still in negotiations with Sanchez and his fellow star player Mesut Ozil about extending their deals at The Emirates with 12 months remaining on the current contracts.

On Sunday, ahead of Chile v Australia this evening, Arturo Vidal has talked up Bayern Munich signing his global team mate, in an interview with Bild. "I do not know yet", Vidal said, speaking to SportBild.

The Arsenal forward scored Chile's goal in their 1-1 draw with Germany in the Confederations Cup on Thursday evening and after the match, the 28-year-old was quizzed about his future.

Vidal: "We'll see if Alexis is coming".

Sanchez became Chile's all-time leading scorer after netting against Germany, refusing to let the transfer saga now surrounding him affect his performances for the national team.

'I know him very well.

Bayern midfielder Arturo Vidal has even taken to openly encouraging his compatriot to turn down the renewal offer from Arsenal and join him at the Bundesliga giants. He is a spectacular player. "And we would certainly improve with him", Vidal said. We are the best club in the world'.

28-year-old Sanchez is thought to be keen on a reunion with Pep Guardiola, but City bosses have a hard task ahead in convincing Arsenal to sell to a Premier League rival. "Obviously the other players can not make that decision, he has to make that decision", the centre-back told Omnisport after Germany booked a semi-final tie against Mexico with a 3-1 win over 10-man Cameroon in Sochi.

"But it's important to make decisions as quickly as possible, because the longer you wait the more expensive a player becomes".
