Faedo fabulous again, Florida beats TCU to go to CWS finals

The best-of-three College World Series Finals will begin at 7 p.m. ET Monday, June 26.

OSU's (56-6) historic season is over.

LSU Coach Paul Mainieri is expected to start right-handed pitcher Caleb Gilbert against Oregon State's right-handed pitcher Drew Rasmussen.

Florida took two out of three games from LSU in Gainesville, Fla., back in late March, opening that SEC series with 1-0 and 8-1 wins before dropping the finale 10-6. "But that's why you have to play the games and our kids embraced the challenge".

Fourth-seeded LSU bounced back from a 13-1 loss to Oregon State on Monday and reached the championship round for the first time since winning the national title in 2009. "We didn't put any pressure on them".

"We just felt it was in our best interest to make sure we had Rasmussen at the end of the game", says Casey. "To have it come to an end is just too bad". But Faedo just pitched on Saturday, which means he's out for Tuesday. Brady Singer, who will start for Florida tonight, was overwhelming in one of them, throwing a complete game while allowing one run, six hits, and no walks in a 3-1 win. He experienced forearm pain in the third inning of the Tigers' 13-1 loss Monday to Oregon State.

"And then we said let's sleep on that and visit it in the morning". After going 3-0 in the Baton Rouge regional against the likes of Texas Southern, Southeastern Louisiana and Rice, the Tigers defeated another SEC opponent in Mississippi State in the Super Regionals.

Only time will tell if the Beavers have one more miracle left in their bag of tricks.

The Beavers' two hits were their fewest since they had four in their season opener against Indiana.

Papierski, a junior from Lemont, Illinois, also became the first LSU player to home from both sides of the plate since Todd Linden at Alabama in 2001.

The dynamic shifted as a 2-1 fastball to Larnach crossed the opposing batter's box but was called for strike two.

With his Beavers down two runs and running out of chances, Payton expressed his concern for his team. "We've been in this situation before, and I tried to bear down with every pitch I threw".

LSU pitcher Alex Lange reacts as he leaves during the eighth inning of an NCAA College World Series baseball game against OR in Omaha, Neb., Friday, June 23, 2017.

"It was amusing for the first day, maybe first day or two", he said, "and then you wake up day three, day four, and you're like, 'I still got blond hair.' I look at the board after a play, and I'll see myself and kind of jump". "We couldn't get the lead-off man on".

Harrison reached on an infield single in the fourth while Gretler broke up the shutout with a solo shot in the eighth. Deacon Liput singled and drove in Hicks to extend the lead to 3-0. "All we have is three starters, but those people don't understand what we go through". Gilbert gets the ball because season-long starter Eric Walker can not pitch.

LSU's Josh Smith (4) reacts as he runs to first base after hitting an RBI single during the second inning of an NCAA College World Series baseball game against the OR in Omaha, Neb., Friday.

Josh Smith, whose solo home run in the seventh Friday was the Tigers final run in a 3-1 win over Oregon State, walked with two outs to start the second inning rally off Beavers' starter Bryce Fehmel.

LSU sixth inning - With one out, Jordan hit a home run over the leftfield fence. "And after that the wind helped a little bit".

Greg Deichmann hit a leadoff double, hustling to second on a knock between the Beavers' first and second basemen. His next time up, he'd clobber another home run, his 11th of the season, to put LSU up 5-0.
