Sixers' Markelle Fultz opens up about playing with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid

Fultz is the closes thing the Sixers have had to a player who actually sees the team and wants to be a part of it. And since he hinted there's a decent chance that Furkan Korkmaz is making the jump to the National Basketball Association next season, I would tend to agree with him.

Nine of the first 10 selections played just one season of college ball. Obviously, neither could outright replace Paul should he leave for greener pastures in July, but Evans was a projected first rounder and Thornwell's gritty, heroic performances fueled the seventh-seeded University of SC to the Final Four back in March. "And we'll see how the dust settles here in the coming weeks as to how this all plays out".

The Kings have caught heat for their less-than-conventional choices in past drafts, but they more than made up for any missteps last night.

The Nets selected Jarrett Allen out of Texas with the No. 23 overall pick.

It is his versatility that the Sixers coveted the most.

Indeed, Boston has no Chick-fil-A locations and, in fact, former Mayor Tom Menino once threatened to block the chain over CEO Dan Cathy's support of organization opposing same-sex marriage.

An extension of Embiid would give the Sixers a young core including Saric, Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz - whom they selected with the No. 1 pick in Thursday's draft - and Jahlil Okafor.

"What's the common denominator that on the court can help them succeed best?"

"Yeah", Fultz said. "And I am serious when I say that". "It's space. It's clear, it's space".

And he wants to be the best player on a team that reaches the postseason.

Well, the Sixers have their share of keepers now. And if they can cajole him into a hometown discount in the vein of Stephen Curry's, so much the better.

National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver confirmed the trade during the 2017 entry draft. The Sixers' defining trait at this stage of the game is what Brown described as "a youthful enthusiasm".

"It's been a while", team president Bryan Colangelo said, pointing toward championship banners hanging in the team's New Jersey complex.

Can't really blame him, Chick-fil-A is pretty good. He had more than double the mentions of any other player.

Makelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball went 1-2, as expected in Thursday night. "Not only when I'm guarding the ball but on help defense too".

"Joel will come out and do something similar", Brown said, smiling.

In a piece on The Players' Tribune, Fultz introduced himself to the city of Philadelphia and described what he experienced over the past few months. When he heard the news that he was working out for the Sixers, Fultz's first thought was about fast-food chicken sandwiches. He still intends to make Simmons the point guard and let the chips fall where they may. I mean, Ish Smith was viewed like a savior! He knows Simmons a little bit since both attended high school powers - Fultz at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Md., Simmons at Montverde (Fla.) Academy. Play badly, and you get top young talent, which is the cheapest form of talent available because young talent has no bargaining power whatsoever.

Yet that awful "if" is the "if" that could determine whether the end result of the Process is a multi-year dynasty, or an ultimately forgettable string of Conference Finals appearances.
