Plane crashes into empty Florida daycare building; 1 killed

One person was reportedly killed after a plane crashed into a daycare building in Fort Myers, Florida, on Saturday morning, according to multiple outlets.

Surveillance video from a nearby business sees the plane flipping over as it crashes into the building and then bursting into flames as it hits ground.

A Piper PA-28-181 aircraft crashed around 8 a.m. Saturday into Chico's Daycare on 11215 Metro Parkway following take off from Page Field, officials said. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash, CBS affiliate WINK-TV reports. One person is dead and another was taken to the hospital. It was unclear how serious the injuries were.

"Planes are a lot safer than cars, and pilots are very well trained", said Dan Boggs, a National Transportation Safety Board Investigator.
