Mourinho tells Man United to go and get Kane

According to a report by The Mirror, Jose Mourinho wants his bosses at Manchester United to utilize their £100 million from the transfer kitty to purchase Harry Kane over Cristiano Ronaldo.

However with Ronaldo looking likely to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Red Devils boss wants attention turned to long time targer Kane.

The manager has signed off on Ed Woodward making Tottenham a deal they can not refuse, but John Richardson also writes that Mourinho still wants Alvaro Morata as well as Kane. The manager believes that signing Kane along with long-time target Alvaro Morata will prove to be a better option.

While this might dash the hopes of all United fans hoping for an emphatic Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, the truth is that Ronaldo alone might not be able to lift the burden of improving the Red Devils' blunt attack force.

The Mirror have claimed on their website that the Portuguese wants his club to ignore bringing back Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and go for the Spurs 23-year-old.

Since being accused of tax fraud in Spain, speculation has been rife that Ronaldo could be set to quit Real Madrid and will seek a move elsewhere.

The "Special One" wants the England worldwide to partner Morata upfront as the Reds' have Premier League title ambitions.

United sounding like an interesting prospect? Today, Man Utd are linked with Harry Kane...

However, the Tottenham goal machine is also still contracted to the north London side until 2022 and they will be sure to do all that they can to enable them to line-up with Kane in the next campaign following a season where he bagged 29 Premier League goals in 30 top-flight appearances.

It's claimed that United were exploring the possibility of signing the 32-year-old but have not yet submitted a bid.
